Fleet Service 365 vs Fleetio, Samsara, Geotab, and Verizon Connect.
An honest, sourced side-by-side from the people who make Fleet Service 365. We compare maintenance, inspections,
compliance, telematics, and pricing posture across the four platforms fleet teams ask us about most often —
so you can pick the right fit, not just the loudest brand. Last updated: May 10, 2026.
Every vendor on this page has shipping customers and real strengths. Here's where each one wins,
and where Fleet Service 365 is the better fit. Detailed narratives, sources, and the full matrix follow.
vs Fleetio
Maintenance-first SaaS with a mature mobile app and marketplace.
Where they win
Mature iOS/Android app, the largest third-party integrations marketplace in the maintenance category, and an established brand most VMRS-fluent shops already know.
Where FS365 wins
Three-level VMRS hierarchy (Category › System › Assembly) instead of a flatter service-type list, operator renewals as a first-class module rather than a custom field, a native MCP server for AI access, and a true forever-free tier up to three assets.
Telematics-and-dashcam platform with deep enterprise reach.
Where they win
Best-in-class real-time GPS visibility on long-haul, an AI dashcam ecosystem that's hard to beat, and a deep enterprise footprint with broad fleet-safety analytics.
Where FS365 wins
Purpose-built FS365 hardware — plug-in OBD-II GPS, hardwired asset trackers, AI dashcams — on transparent per-asset pricing instead of a quote-based multi-year bundle. Hardware-optional too: run software-only with manual or CSV data entry where real-time visibility doesn't pay off.
Telematics platform with one of the largest ELD/GPS device ecosystems.
Where they win
Massive MyGeotab marketplace, deep ELD/telematics breadth, strong DOT compliance pedigree, and a worldwide reseller channel.
Where FS365 wins
Maintenance, inspections, and operator-renewal workflows that come configured out of the box — Geotab leans on third-party MyGeotab add-ons for those. Fleet Service 365 ships its own purpose-built GPS, asset-tracker, and AI dashcam hardware on transparent per-asset pricing, with the option to run software-only if you already have telematics from someone else.
Established telematics suite with a large North American installed base.
Where they win
Large installed base, broad telematics feature set, and a household-name parent company that procurement teams already have on their approved-vendor list.
Where FS365 wins
Transparent per-asset pricing on the website, modern UX without a multi-year contract floor, MCP-native AI access, and a maintenance module designed for VMRS-fluent shops from day one.
Fleet Service 365 vs the field, feature by feature.
Every yes/no in this table is sourced from each vendor's public marketing pages or documentation.
Where a vendor relies on third-party add-ons we say so. Where pricing isn't publicly listed, we say "Quote-based"
instead of guessing. As of May 10, 2026.

Pricing posture
What "starts at $X" actually means for each vendor.
Public pricing tells you two things: how confident a vendor is that their value is obvious, and how
predictable your bill will be year over year. Here's where each vendor lands as of May 10, 2026.
Bring your data. Pilot on a few assets. Keep what works.
You don't have to throw out your existing ELD, tracker, or dashcam to use Fleet Service 365.
Run FS365 software-only for maintenance, inspections, and renewals while keeping Geotab, Samsara,
Motive, or Verizon Connect for tracking and ELD compliance — or pair FS365 software with our own
purpose-built hardware (plug-in OBD-II GPS, hardwired asset trackers, AI dashcams) for a
single-vendor stack. Native passthrough connectors to the major ELD platforms are on the roadmap.
Fleet Service 365 ships its own purpose-built hardware (OBD-II GPS, hardwired asset tracker, AI dashcam) and also runs hardware-optional for fleets that prefer software-only with manual or CSV data entry. Native ELD compliance is on the Pro tier roadmap; in the meantime, the platform can run alongside any compliant ELD. If your primary need is bundled hardware + dashcam + ELD on one multi-year contract, Samsara remains the natural choice. If your primary need is maintenance, inspections, and operator-renewal compliance on transparent per-asset pricing, Fleet Service 365 is a direct fit.
No. Fleet Service 365 does not require any particular telematics provider, and you do not need to remove Geotab, Samsara, Motive, or Verizon Connect to use it. Run FS365 software-only for maintenance, inspections, and renewals while keeping your existing telematics for tracking and ELD compliance. CSV and scheduled-export imports are supported today; native passthrough connectors to the major ELD platforms are on the roadmap.
Fleet Service 365 publishes per-asset pricing on the website: $0 up to 3 assets (Starter), $6/asset/month for Standard, and $22/asset/month for Pro. Fleetio also publishes plan tiers on its pricing page but uses a per-vehicle model. We recommend pricing both against your exact asset count and required modules — the right answer depends on whether you need parts inventory, real-time GPS, SSO, and how many users you'll add.
Trucking fleets typically value VMRS-grade maintenance taxonomy, CDL and medical-card renewals, IFTA support, and ELD compliance. Geotab and Samsara lead on telematics depth; Fleet Service 365 leads on the VMRS hierarchy and operator-renewal module. Most trucking customers run a telematics provider plus Fleet Service 365 in parallel rather than picking one or the other.
Yes. Fleet Service 365 supports CSV imports for assets, operators, service history, fuel records, and PM templates. Exported telematics data from Geotab, Samsara, Motive, Verizon Connect, or any other provider can be imported on a scheduled basis. Native passthrough connectors to the major ELD platforms are on the roadmap.
As of May 10, 2026, those vendors do not publish standard per-vehicle pricing on their websites and require a sales-led quote. Rather than publish unverifiable third-party estimates, we mark those rows "Quote-based." The competitor pricing pages we link to are the canonical source if pricing changes.
Every competitor claim links to the vendor's own marketing or documentation pages. The matrix is reviewed quarterly and re-stamped with a new "Last updated" date. If you spot something that's drifted out of date, email hello@fleetservice365.com and we'll correct it.
